We have listed here what we think is the top ten things to do in Mudgee (apart from enjoying the comfort of the Cobb & Co and dining in the Wineglass of course!), not listed in order of importance:
- 1. Roths Wine Bar, yes yes, we know, why are we recommending another place when we have a bar here? Well we think you should get to experience some of the great things to do, and a visit to Roths is one of them. A relaxed walk from the Cobb & Co Boutique Hotel Roths has live music most Friday nights and you can enjoy an excellent selection of local wines by the glass as well as some boutique beers. 30 Market Street, Mudgee, phone: 6372 1222.
- 2. Petersons Glenesk Estate, a relaxed tasting room in the heart of the Mudgee Wine country, Petersons features some of the finest wines and one of the lovliest settings to enjoy a glass, Black Springs Road, Mudgee.
- 3. Robert Stein Vineyard, one of the oldest established vineyards and wineries in the Mudgee area, Robert Stein wines are consistent medal winners at wine shows around the country and the rustic cellar door has stunning views back towards town. Apart from the great wines there is also an excellent Motorcycle museum including photographs and rare motorcylces to break up your day, entry to the museum is also free. Robert Stein Vineyard, Pipeclay Lane, Mudgee, phone:

- 4. Burnbrae - On the other side of town to most of the other wineries, Burnbrae is on the Hill End Road only a short drive from town. With some excellent interesting varieties and a new lease of life injected into the vineyard by the new owners, Burnbrae is a great place to relax and watch the sun go down, phone:

- 5. Simon Gilbert Wines - If you are arriving from Sydney then Simon Gilbert Wines or SGW as we like to call it is pretty hard to miss, a majestic cellar door and large scale commercial winery it also hosts some great local produce not to mention the wines which are also great value. It is also a function centre and the Cobb & Co Court provides caterering onsite if required, phone: 6373 1245 - http://www.simongilbertwines.com.au
- 6. Objects of Art - Sabine Van Gent Jewlery. If you think the name is familiar, then you might be thinking of Pieter Van Gent wines, a Mudgee icon, but we think in years to come, it might be the other way around, Sabines handcrafted jewlery can be viewed in her delightful showroom in Lewis Street, perfect for that special gift to remember a memorable stay in Mudgee, 13 Lewis Street, phone:

- 7. Moothi Estate. A newcomer on the Mudgee wine scene, the distinctively named Moothi Estate enjoys panoramic views across its vineyards and the valley, and the wines are worth it too. Situated on Rocky Waterhole Road, take the Lue Road towards Rylstone, and turn right approx 6km along, you can't miss it, 85 Rocky Waterhole Road, phone:
